Beard Dye
If your beard has a few more white hairs than you’d like to see, your best option is to use a specific men's hair and beard dye. Getting older is a fact of life, and unfortunately, it is accentuated by a beard with white hair. Men can often go prematurely gray in their beards well before they start having gray hair on their heads. These gray hairs can at times be alarming and result in you looking much older than you are.
In the past, the only option was to use a regular head hair dye. However, because of the way these needed to be applied, they were not very effective as the dye had problems adhering to the hair follicles. Another problem was that these could at times dry out your face. At True Sons.com, we have spent time developing a foam-based hair dye formula that is incredibly effective on beards and many consider it to be the best beard dye available. Using our foam dyes, you’ll get great coverage, and the color can be applied multiple times, unlike many boxed hair and beard dyes which are one use and then thrown away. When you use True Sons beard dyes, you’ll get multiple applications from one aerosol can, which will save you money, month to month.
How to apply beard dye?
All beard dye for men is different, and there are a few methods for their application. To get the best results from the dye you choose, you should follow the instructions provided. Whenever you’re dyeing a beard, you should wear gloves. If you don’t wear gloves, there is a possibility you’ll stain the palms of your hands. Typical beard dyes are cream-based, but True Sons uses an innovative foam-based dye as the application is less messy and faster. When using a cream dye, you may need to mix it first, and when you brush it in, you may receive uneven coverage. True Sons have solved these problems with our foam dye; all you’ll need is a consistent thick covering of foam for the perfect amount of coverage!
When you’re using a True Sons product, start by lining the edges of your beard with Vaseline or chapstick. This layer will keep the dye off your face and stop any possible staining. To begin the beard dyeing process, you can use a small amount of beard dye, an amount the size of a golf ball should do it. Take this ball of foam and spread it evenly through your beard. Have a damp towel on hand to take care of any foam that touches your bare skin. When using the foam, start at the cheek line of your beard and apply it in a downward motion. Massaging the foam in this way will provide consistent coverage and help you control exactly where the foam goes. Keep working the foam in, and make sure that every part of your beard receives a thick covering of foam. For men with long beards, you may need to use more of the foam dye. For the best results with your dye, the foam needs to be applied thickly. The thickness of the foam adheres more product around the hair follicles and results in a natural-looking color change.
Once you’re satisfied with the amount of foam in your beard, you should start a timer. Generally, the longer you leave the foam in your beard, the more time the active ingredients have to work. However, if this is your first time using True Sons foam to dye your beard, we’d recommend only leaving the foam in for 10 to 15 minutes. Keeping the foam in for this amount of time will give you a good view of how the dye works on your hair. In subsequent uses of the dye, you may prefer to leave it in for a little longer. After the right amount of time has elapsed, you can rinse out your beard with clean water. Some guys find that doing this in the shower is the easiest method. You should keep rinsing your beard until the water is clear. Once your beard is dry, you can use beard oil and groom it. Check over your beard and look at how the dye worked. Again, if this is your first time using the dye, you may need to make some minor changes during your next use. If you’re not satisfied with the darkness of the dye, you can apply it again on the same day. One of the major benefits of True Sons is that it’s a natural-looking beard dye. When using some other brands, you may find they will dye your beard a single solid color resulting in a very fake-looking appearance.
How long does beard dye last?
The time that a men’s beard dye will last is dependent on the type of product you use. The three most common dye products are semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and permanent. Permanent dyes work by the color penetrating the hair follicle, and this changes the color of the hair until it falls out or is cut. These are temporary with semi or demi hair dyes and will last for a certain amount of washes. Semi and demi dyes do not penetrate the hair follicle, but they wrap around the hair strand and will wash away over time. Semi dyes will last for about 36 shampoo sessions, and demi dyes will last up to 24 shampoo sessions.
At True Sons.com, our beard and hair dyes are demi-permanent. With permanent hair dye for your beard, it can be difficult to color the new hair growth as your beard grows out. In addition, a beard with different colored roots can be tough to hide, and it may be hard to match the colors. In using demi-permanent beard dyes, the color will last a reasonable amount of time, and you can reapply as often as you like. To keep your beard in excellent condition, we recommend you reapply your beard dye every two weeks. However, you may prefer to experiment and figure out what works best for you and your beard.
