True Sons was developed to give guys a higher-quality alternative to cheap drugstore brands. Our innovative, patent-pending foam formula can be applied with or without mixing to achieve a subtle effect that looks natural, not fake. If you are a dye virgin, or just hate the shoe-polish look, then True Sons might be for you.
True Sons is available online via TrueSons.com website and on Amazon.com. It can be delivered to your door bi-monthly or semi-annual basis in a cool, discreet packaging.
True Sons is an aerosol. That means it can be reused for multiple applications over a long period of time. How much you need depends on the length of your hair and how many body parts you are dyeing. Everyone is different.
* Dispense a small amount of product from each aerosol can.
Store upright in a dry, cool, and well ventilated place.
Discard remaining product after 6 months.
One bottle of True Sons is good for 3-4 applications for the average user.
True Sons Hair Dye Foam is the first foam hair dye available in the USA for men. It’s contains oxidative dye which react when they come in contact with the air. That means it works without the addition of developer to give guys results that look gradual and natural. It can also be mixed with True Sons Dye Booster, a 20 volume cream developer, for more grey coverage.

You can use the same True Sons foam on multiple body parts including scalp (head) hair, beard hair, chest hair and arm hair. However, True Sons cannot ever be used on your eyebrows or eyelashes. Getting dye in your eyes is extremely dangerous. Please be careful. We also have never tested True Sons on the pubic area so please don’t use it near your business district. You might give a whole new meaning to the term ‘blue balls’.
As with all hair dyes, there are risks of temporary staining to your skin. Read the User’s Guide attached to your monthly box to learn how to minimize staining. Again, using on the pubic area is NOT RECOMMENDED for this reason and others.
Yes! It will stain everything unless it is cleaned up. For the sink (and even walls) of your bathroom, we recommend thoroughly wiping down all surfaces post application. And we mean everywhere, especially light colored. We recommend using cheap, dark-colored towels to towel off. Light colors will show stains immediately.
Yes! You can reuse True Sons Hair Dye Foam for multiple applications. If applied weekly, each bottle should last about a month, depending your hair length and how many areas you dye. True Sons is packaged in a hermetically sealed aerosol can which protects the oxidative dyes from reacting until you are ready to dye again.
We recommend applying the product for 15 minutes the first time and evaluating the results. Need more penetration? Reapply in 5-minute intervals until you reach your desired shade.
If adding our Dye Booster to the hair dye foam, then apply for 5 minutes max.
Start counting the time after all dye foam (or mixture of dye + developer) is applied to the area. And dye one area at a time, please. Don’t be greedy.
That’s up to you, but we recommend reapplying once or twice a week at first. Using it more often may cause irritation. Each application should not exceed 25 minutes max.
Most guys use one can of True Sons Hair dye per month but everyone is different, based on the amount of grey, frequency of application and length of hair being treated.
Yes, you really do. Allergic reactions are rare but they do happen. How many years did you wait to try dyeing? 48 more hours won’t make a difference. You have been warned!
Sure. But your hair should be dry when applying True Sons and you should rinse off thoroughly immediately after dyeing. Dye on your hair will continue to react for up to 24 hours post application. This means it may look a bit darker 1-2 days after application.
You can if you want but it is not required. Simple rinse with water until the water runs clear. Every time you shampoo your hair, you remove some of the dye. The more shampoos, the quicker you will need to reapply.
Yes, color-extending shampoos are fine to use. They may help extend the length of time between applications.

When we developed our line of shades, we purchased every single shade offered by some of our competitors. Even we couldn’t tell the difference between some of them, the results were so subtle. We decided that our shade line is all you really need to get good results.
Ask your barber, partner or a close friend you trust to not give away your secret! Then try one of our shades. If it’s not right, then you can edit your shade choice at least one week before your next shipment.
ORDERING QUESTIONS
You can change the shade you receive for each shipment by changing your account settings one week before your next ship date.
To change your delivery frequency, log into your account and look for the Manage Your Subscription option.
Yes. Any plan changes, including cancellations, must be received one full week before your next shipment date. You can also pause or skip a shipment by logging into your account, going to Manage Subscription, click ORDER # and adjust each shipment to your liking.

True Sons usually ships out new orders within 1 business day. It can take up to 5-7 business days to be delivered, as our aerosol cans contain pressurized gas that can only ship ground. We are not able to offer expedited, air, or international shipping at this time. We are able to ship to PO and APO boxes.
We currently ship only within the continental United States only. Sorry, Hawaii, Alaska, and Guam!
Single-can purchases can be made through Amazon.
While we are not offering a single can purchase on our website, you can subscribe to any plan to start out. Then you are able to Skip or Unskip as needed before each scheduled shipment (or you can also change the color and next ship date before the next order). Users can manage this in their Account tab, or we can cancel subscriptions for customers.

If you are not 100% satisfied with your choice of shade, we will either send you out a new shade as a replacement or we will cheerfully issue a refund. To request a new shade, contact support@truesons.com within 30 days of the date of your original purchase. This policy is limited to one per customer.
You may notice that your order comes in separate shipments. True Sons is proud to partner with many of our favorite brands to bring you some products on truesons.com
This is a drop ship program, meaning each of our partner brands ships their items from their own workshops and studios all over the country. So, if you've ordered items as a part of our Marketplace, they will ship separately from each other. You’ll receive a tracking number for every separate shipment.

Of course! Although True Sons was made specifically for men, women can use our products as well to achieve a natural look. However, we are only available in a limited number of shades.
We proudly manufacture and fill our product within the USA. Some ingredients and materials that go into the product are sourced outside the USA.
True Sons is cruelty-free. We do not test our products on animals. We will not sell into countries that require animal testing. Please do not use True Sons on your dog or cat. If we find out, we will cancel your subscription!
Excess exposure to the sun, or chlorine from a swimming pool will risk your color fade faster. Shampooing often also speeds fading. In such cases, simply re-apply True Sons. You can also use a color-extending shampoo, but be careful to make sure you don’t have any skin staining when you apply color-extending shampoos.
That’s simple, just look at the bottom of the can to find the shade name, or login to your account and see your order history.
