Super Important Stuff You Should Read Before Using Hair Dye Products

Please Read: Caution, Warning, and First Aid

Caution: This product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation or allergic reaction in certain individuals.  A preliminary test according to accompanying directions should first be made. Temporary black henna tattoos may increase the risk of allergy. This product must not be used for dyeing eyelashes or eyebrows; to do so may cause blindness. This product may not be used on, in, or near your genital area.

Caution: It is recommended to perform a patch test on the inside bend of your elbow 48-hours ahead of each and every use in order to minimize the risk of an allergic reaction even if you have used coloring products before. Always use gloves to minimize exposure.

Patch Test - The Cotton Swab method: With mild soap and water, wash an area approximately 1 square inch on the inside bend of your elbow. Allow to dry. Take a cotton swab and dip into the bottle of dye and apply to the cleaned area. DO NOT USE THE SAME END DURING THIS PROCESS - Reverse the swab and do the same with the activator that is in the foamer bottle. Dab the same area as the dye.

Do not wash this area for 48 hours. When showering, protect with an adhesive bandage and remove it immediately after washing.

Examine the test area during the next 48 hours. If no reaction occurs, you are ready to dye. This test represents an important precaution.

However, be aware that even if an allergy alert test has been carried out, you may still experience an allergic reaction when you dye your hair. The allergy alert test is not a guarantee to avoid future allergic reactions. Please consult a doctor if you have any doubts.

Warning: If during coloring, you experience any skin stinging, burning, rapidly spreading rash, dizziness, or faintness, shortness of breath and/or swelling of eyes/face, rinse immediately and discontinue use as this may be an indication of a more serious reaction. Immediately seek medical advice. If, during the days following application, you experience itching, redness, spots on the scalp or skin, swelling of the eyes and/or face, blisters or oozing of the scalp and/or skin, consult a doctor.
